Responsibilities
- Control company expenditure, review every major spending request, & challenge or reject requests that are unjustified or impractical
- Negotiate strongly with suppliers & service providers, reduce operating costs, eliminate waste & leakage, & make sure critical suppliers are paid according to approved arrangements
- Make sure all statutory payments & filings (VAT, PAYE, SDL, NSSF, WCF) are completed on time, & maintain a compliance calendar to avoid penalties
- Monitor cash flow, predict financial risks & shortages, & advise management before problems become urgent
- Manage client collections by setting targets, following up overdue accounts, agreeing payment plans, & handling difficult clients firmly & professionally
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, & regular financial reports (revenue, expenses, cash flow, collections, contract profitability) with clear recommendations to management
- Enforce traceable payment controls, approval records & petty cash monitoring, & work with the Head of Operations so operational decisions consider their financial impact

Requirements
- 1. Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with a professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA
- Proven experience in a senior finance role covering cost control, cash flow & budgeting
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian statutory compliance (VAT, PAYE, SDL, NSSF, WCF)
- Strong negotiation skills with suppliers & the ability to handle difficult clients firmly & professionally
- Strong analytical & forecasting skills to predict cash shortages & financial risks
- Authoritative, commercially minded & decisive, able to say no & make financial decisions independently
- Proficiency in accounting software & MS Excel, with strong financial reporting skills
