Role overview
This individual will serve as main operational and customer-facing point of contact in Mwanza, ensuring smooth cargo processing, accurate documentation, and responsive client support. The role requires strong command of import/export requirements and shipping operations, along with the judgment and experience to work independently with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day customer service matters and client communications for operations in Mwanza
- Coordinate with TPA and oversee cargo and vessel operations at the port, ensuring efficient turnaround
- Coordinate and verify import/export documentation in line with TPA requirements and other relevant regulatory requirements
- Liaise with customs, port authorities, and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and smooth cargo operations
- Maintain accurate operational and customer records
- Act as a point of contact and relationship-builder within the local Mwanza shipping and logistics community
- Flag operational issues, documentation gaps, or client concerns proactively and resolve them with minimal need for supervision
Candidate Profile
- 7–10 years of experience in freight forwarding, customs documentation, port operations, or customer service within the shipping/logistics sector
- Strong working knowledge of shipping operations and TRA import/export documentation requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both with clients and with regulatory/port officials
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Established network of contacts within the Mwanza shipping and port community
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and process-driven, with strong problem-solving instincts
