Driver applications: prove the right vehicle experience
A valid licence, the required class and experience with the actual vehicle are separate checks.
Extract the exact requirements
Record the licence class, experience, training and any driving-test condition exactly as advertised. Do not infer that a licence for one vehicle covers a different category. Check expiry dates before describing a document as current.
Describe real driving responsibility
Name the type of vehicle, route environment and responsibility you actually had. Delivery records, pre-trip inspections and safe handling of goods can be relevant examples. Avoid claiming specialist machinery experience from ordinary car driving.
Prepare for a practical assessment
Ask the employer what documents and equipment are required for any test. Review checks and procedures you have been trained to perform. Do not attempt unfamiliar equipment without proper instruction and authorisation.
Read the working arrangement
Clarify route, roster, overnight travel, loading duties and who funds trip expenses. Compare salary separately from cash supplied for fuel or deliveries, and keep the original advert with your application.
