Working in Tanga: the port, the oil pipeline terminal and the water utility

The port and the pipeline
The Tanzania Ports Authority runs Tanga Ports among its sea ports. The East African Crude Oil Pipeline runs 1,447 km from Kabaale in Hoima district, Uganda, to the Chongoleani peninsula near Tanga Port, where the oil is to be shipped to world markets. Pay
Private-sector minimum wages from 1 January 2026 depend on the sector, not the city. Freight clearing and forwarding has a minimum of TZS 464,000 a month, inland transport TZS 398,500, the business sector TZS 200,500 and the industrial sector TZS 200,000. Domestic energy companies have a minimum of TZS 297,000 and international energy companies TZS 765,900.
