Graduate trainee programmes and internships in Tanzania 2026: real ones we saw

• A-One Products & Bottlers: HSE Officer Trainee, Dar es Salaam. Seen in September 2026. Closes 30 November 2026.
• UNHCR: Administration Intern, Dar es Salaam, three adverts. Seen in October 2026, with a target start of 16 November. It helps move and digitise the office's records. The advert itself gives 3 November 2026 as the deadline, so don't wait.
• Academic Intern through ITM Tanzania, Dar es Salaam, employer not named. Seen in September 2026. It supports a general manager with events, research and communication.

New ones appear on internships in Tanzania.

• Geita Gold Mining: Graduate 2, Mining Engineer, Geita. Seen in October 2026.
• CMA CGM: Service Delivery Intern Apprentice, Dar es Salaam. Seen in October 2026.
• Ifakara Health Institute: Biomedical Intern, Dar es Salaam. Seen in October 2026. It asked for a degree in biomedical engineering, and offered an allowance on the institute's scales.
• Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute: Internship Opportunities. Seen in October 2026.
• NKG: Origin Coffee Trainee, for Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Seen in October 2026. It asked for a graduate of the last two years in agribusiness, economics or finance.
• WaterAid: Administrative Support Intern, Dar es Salaam. Seen in September 2026. Fixed term, 40 hours a week, on a daily stipend.
• Vivo Energy: Accounting Intern. Seen in August 2026. The duties were real accounts work in SAP.
• A-One Products & Bottlers: Health and Safety Officer Trainee, Mbeya. Seen in July 2026.

We hold one year of dates, and one year isn't a pattern. The month is when we saw the advert, so don't read it as the month a programme opens every year.

NMB and the University of Dar es Salaam

The Graduate Banker Readiness Programme is run by the UDSM Business School with NMB Bank. UDSM says it graduated 100 students on 13 February 2026 in its fourth cohort, up from 35 in the pilot of 2021. That cohort was 45 women and 55 men, from actuarial science, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics and information technology. So it isn't only for people who studied banking.

Vodacom Early Careers

Vodacom listed Early Careers Programmes 2026 in Dar es Salaam, dated 15 November 2025. When we opened it on 2 November 2026 it said the position has been filled. So that round has gone. Look at the Vodacom careers site for the next one. We can't tell you if the next one will appear at the same time of year.

Internship, trainee or graduate post: what is the difference?

The names aren't used the same way by every employer, so read the terms and not the title. Ask if the post has a wage or a stipend, how long it lasts, and if a job can follow. WaterAid paid a daily stipend and Ifakara an allowance. None of the adverts above gave a shilling figure. A trainee on an employment contract in the private sector is still an employee, so check the pay against the minimum wage for your sector. Students looking for a placement during their course should read field attachment in Tanzania instead.

How to apply well as a new graduate

• Read the advert for what it wants you to do, and show one place you did something like it, such as field attachment, a project or volunteering.
• Paste the advert and your CV into the CV and advert check to see which main words you missed.
• Write a short letter from the no experience sample in our letter guide.
• Apply early, and never pay anybody for a place. A real programme doesn't charge you to join.
