Say an advert for an accounts assistant asks for EFD receipts, Tally, VAT returns and TRA filing, and your CV says only that you helped with bookkeeping. The tool lists those four as missing. If you have done them, say so in your own words, and if you haven't, you now know what the interview will test.
How to use the list
Go through the missing words one at a time. Add a word only if it's true, and put it in a sentence that shows you did the thing. A list of words copied from the advert fools nobody at the interview.
- Add the exact name of a licence, a course or a system when you have it.
- Use the job title from the advert if it fairly describes what you do.
- Leave out what you can't back up. Certificate fraud has legal consequences, and PSRS notices warn of legal action for forged certificates and false information.
What the tool doesn't do
It gives no score out of 100 and it doesn't predict whether you'll be shortlisted. It compares words. It can't judge whether your experience is good, and a person will read your application in the end.
Questions people ask
Is my CV stored?
No. The text you paste is not saved and not sent. Close the page and it's gone.
Does it work in Swahili?
It compares words in any language, but the words it ignores are English ones. It works best when the CV and the advert are in the same language.
Where do I find adverts to compare with?
Open any job on Work.tz, copy the description and paste it here.
