Companies hiring in Tanzania now: who has the most open jobs, from our adverts

The top 15, by open adverts

We counted the 604 open adverts in our catalogue, built on 1 November 2026, and left out global firms hiring remote staff and agencies that don't name the employer. Each link goes to that employer's open jobs.

• A-One Products & Bottlers: 38. Dar es Salaam 18, Mbeya 8, Kilimanjaro 7. Mostly skilled trades and sales.
• Public bodies through PSRS: 36. Listed in the notices as taasisi mbalimbali za umma, and 29 of them are in education.
• Mohammed Enterprises Tanzania: 34, all in Dar es Salaam. Sales, trades and administration.
• Mo Finance Corporation: 21. Finance and administration, nearly all in Dar es Salaam.
• MeTL BAJAJ: 18. Logistics, trades and sales.
• Maisha Bottlers & Beverages: 16, of which 11 are in Zanzibar. Mostly skilled trades.
• Sun King: 15, all listed in Arusha.
• Tanzania Forest Services: 14, through PSRS.
• Kilombero Sugar Company: 9, in Morogoro.
• Dangote Cement Tanzania: 7, mostly in Mtwara.
• East Coast Oils & Fats: 6, in Dar es Salaam.
• Geita Gold Mining: 6, mostly in Geita.
• Export Trading Group: 6.
• Airtel: 5.
• AGL, Africa Global Logistics: 5, in Dar es Salaam.

These counts change every day, and adverts close. Several of the top names hire through one site, makeyourmove.co.tz, which carried 142 of the open adverts that day. If you want a job in that group of companies, it is worth setting a weekly reminder to look there.

What this list leaves out

• 169 open adverts came from recruitment agencies that don't name the employer.
• 130 open adverts are remote, most of them from global firms such as Canonical (82) and Supabase (39). Those jobs aren't based at a Tanzanian workplace, so see remote jobs if that is what you want.
• Employers that hire by word of mouth, or that don't advertise where we can see it. A company with no adverts this week may still be a big employer.

So the list doesn't rank companies, and it doesn't say a company is a good place to work. A big employer might have few adverts this week, and a smaller one with a new site might have many.

What kind of work is open

Across all 604 open adverts: skilled trades 100, sales and marketing 74, finance and accounting 56, administration 50, logistics 39, education 37, information technology 33, healthcare 10, hospitality 9, security 4, agriculture 1, and 191 in our other group. Who is the biggest employer in Tanzania?

We can't answer that from adverts, and we won't guess. The official survey counts sectors, not companies. In June 2024 it counted 4,073,887 formal jobs: 721,386 in manufacturing, 649,733 in education, and 1,371,640 in Dar es Salaam across all sectors.
