Assembly Mechanic

Job Description

Assemble motorcycles and Bajaj vehicles from CKD (Completely Knocked Down) and SKD (Semi Knocked Down) kits in accordance with approved assembly procedures, quality standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Inspect all parts and components before assembly to ensure they are free from defects, damage, shortages, or quality issues.

Immediately report any damaged, defective, or missing parts to the Supervisor or PDI In-Charge before commencing assembly.

Open CKD/SKD kits under the supervision of the Work Leader or PDI In-Charge and verify all components against the packing list.

Assemble, install, repair, replace, refit, and reassemble vehicle components as required while ensuring high standards of workmanship.

Ensure all motorcycles and Bajaj vehicles are assembled accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards.

Inspect the completed vehicle thoroughly before handing it over for Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI).

Take due care during assembly and repair activities to prevent damage to parts, components, or finished vehicles.

Monitor the quality and performance of all assembled components and promptly report any abnormalities to the Supervisor.

Clean all CKD/SKD parts during assembly in accordance with established cleaning procedures.

Maintain all production records, inspection records, battery logbooks, and PDI sticker documentation as per company procedures.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times and ensure housekeeping is completed after each task.

Properly use, maintain, and perform basic preventive maintenance on assembly tools and workshop equipment.

Ensure all tools, machinery, and equipment are handled responsibly to prevent damage, misuse, or loss.

Clean and return all tools and equipment to their designated storage locations after use.

Immediately report any damaged, malfunctioning, or unsafe tools or equipment to the Supervisor.

Achieve the daily production targets established by the company:

Assemble 4 motorcycles per normal working day (8 hours).

Assemble 2 motorcycles during a half-day or Saturday (5 hours).

Assemble 2 Bajaj vehicles per normal working day (8 hours).

Assemble 1 Bajaj vehicle during a half-day or Saturday (5 hours).

Understand that production targets may be revised by management through verbal or written instructions based on operational requirements.

Strive to exceed production targets while maintaining quality standards. Employees who exceed approved production targets may be eligible for performance incentives as per company policy.

Comply with all Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and workplace regulations.

Identify and immediately report unsafe working conditions, hazards, accidents, or near misses to the Supervisor.

Wear and properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing assigned duties.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Work Leader, Supervisor, or Management in support of production and operational requirements.
