Mechanical Technician

Job Description

Complete all work-related documentation, including job cards, work permits, hot work permits, and confined space work permits, in accordance with company procedures.

Oversee day-to-day operations in the maintenance department to ensure smooth functioning.

Regularly inspect facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and report findings to the supervisor for necessary action.

Suggest upgrades, overhauls, and other modifications to major systems, equipment, and machinery to improve performance.

Perform corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, and breakdown maintenance on all plant equipment.

Actively participate in projects such as the installation, upgrade, and relocation of machinery, and other maintenance-related activities.

Perform routine equipment checks by verifying oil levels, bearings, gland packing, and couplings for all pumps, inspecting mountings, gearboxes, and other machinery components, checking belt drives, greasing bearings, filling lube oil as needed, and monitoring for leakages in oil, steam, water, and air. Diagnose and resolve technical problems in plant machinery and systems.

Prepare records for tools, maintain history cards, and organize the store room and tool room.

Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including logs and daily reports of work performed.
