Purchase Officer

Job Description

Manage local procurement of production materials, packaging materials, spare parts, consumables, tools, PPE, and services required for beverage, water, engineering, and transport operations.

Source, evaluate, and maintain reliable suppliers within Moshi, Arusha, and surrounding areas, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery.

Obtain and analyze supplier quotations, negotiate prices and commercial terms, and recommend the most suitable suppliers based on cost, quality, availability and reliability.

Process approved purchase requisitions and prepare Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) accurately and in accordance with company procurement policies, approval procedures and budgets.

Coordinate the procurement of vehicle spare parts, tyres, batteries, lubricants, workshop materials and other fleet requirements to support smooth transport and fleet operations.

Work closely with Production, QA, Engineering, Stores and Transport departments to understand specifications, priorities and delivery requirements and ensure materials are available on time.

Follow up suppliers and deliveries, verify that goods and services meet approved specifications, and resolve issues relating to quality, quantity, delays, damaged items or incorrect deliveries.

Maintain accurate procurement records, including quotations, supplier comparisons, LPOs, delivery notes, invoices and supplier performance records, and prepare regular purchasing reports.

Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and ethical standards while identifying cost-saving opportunities, developing alternative suppliers, and supporting uninterrupted beverage production, water processing, and transport operations.
