WTP Operator

Job Description

Take responsibility for the operation, monitoring, and overall performance of the water treatment plant and its processes.

Monitor plant operations and make necessary operating adjustments to optimize efficiency and ensure consistent output.

Maintain water quality parameters as specified and advised by the Quality Department.

Monitor and maintain the required differential pressure (ΔP) across the Reverse Osmosis (RO) unit and take corrective action when required.

Carry out sanitation and cleaning of sand filters, carbon filters, and the Reverse Osmosis (RO) system in accordance with established procedures.

Ensure sufficient treated water levels are maintained to meet production requirements.

Maintain accurate operational documentation, including chemical usage and consumption records.

Perform plant start-up and shutdown procedures safely and efficiently.

Operate and maintain water quality analyzers, effluent transfer pumps, final water filtration systems, and associated equipment.

Regularly observe gauges, meters, control panels, and other indicators to ensure that equipment and processes are operating within required parameters.

Identify abnormalities, equipment issues, and process deviations and take timely corrective action or report them to the relevant supervisor.

Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free working environment in and around the water treatment plant.

Monitor plant operations continuously to ensure production and water quality requirements are consistently achieved.

Anticipate potential operational problems, troubleshoot issues in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvements.

Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, quality, environmental, and company policies and procedures.
