Sports and entertainment pay: employees and event fees
A venue employee, performer and event contractor may all work at one event while being paid under different arrangements.

Mainland private sector. These are statutory minimums for the listed categories, not average salaries or take-home pay. They are not a Zanzibar or public-service pay table, and a contract can pay more.
Choose the right category
The sports, arts, entertainment and gaming row is an employee floor. It is not an artist booking fee, a professional player salary survey or a prize-money guarantee.
Questions to settle before accepting
For event work, agree rehearsal time, set-up, travel, cancellation rules, equipment and payment dates. For ongoing employment, check late-night rosters and transport.
Make a fair comparison
Compare the full time commitment, not only the hours seen by an audience. Separate event-specific expenses from personal earnings.
