What the adverts show
Of the 19 adverts, 13 were still open on 12 October 2026, and 12 of those were in Dar es Salaam. Five were open to beginners: three junior accountant posts, an office administrator cum junior accountant and an accounting internship. Eleven came through recruitment agencies that did not name the employer, so the agency is your contact until the interview. See open finance and accounting roles.
Qualifications they ask for
Six adverts mention CPA and four mention ACCA. The Rentokil advert mentions statutory financial statements prepared in line with NBAA standards; NBAA is the National Board of Accountants and Auditors, which registers accountants in Tanzania. Nine adverts ask for a bachelor’s degree. Where the advert gives an experience band, one asks for up to a year, six for one to three years and three for three to five years.
What sets the floor
There is no published accountant salary for the private sector. The legal minimum depends on the employer’s sector, not on the job title. The table shows the 2026 floors for five sectors that hire accountants, from TZS 200,000 a month in the industrial sector to TZS 733,000 in commercial banks.
Before you accept
Because the adverts do not say, ask at the interview for the gross monthly salary, each allowance, the probation period and the contract length, and get them in writing.
