Domestic worker pay: choose the correct household category
Domestic work has several separate minimum-wage categories. One widely repeated number cannot describe every household arrangement.

Mainland private sector. These are statutory minimums for the listed categories, not average salaries or take-home pay. They are not a Zanzibar or public-service pay table, and a contract can pay more.
Choose the right category
The official distinctions include the employer category and whether certain other domestic workers reside at the premises. Read the exact wording of the category in the Order; do not assume all live-in jobs belong in the lowest row.
Questions to settle before accepting
Agree the duties, sleeping arrangements where relevant, weekly routine, care responsibilities and payment date. Cooking, childcare, cleaning and driving should not be left as an unlimited undefined list.
Make a fair comparison
For a live-in offer, write the cash amount separately from meals and accommodation. Ask before treating a provided room as a deduction from the agreed wage.
