Freight clearing pay: salary, field expenses and custody
Clearing and forwarding roles combine documentation, coordination and movement between offices or cargo facilities. Each affects the working arrangement.

Choose the right category
The schedule has a freight-clearing and forwarding row. It does not give a customs-clerk average or make all money handled for a client part of the employee's earnings.
Questions to settle before accepting
Ask about field transport, weekend clearance, phone costs, responsibility for documents and approvals for payments made on behalf of clients.
Make a fair comparison
Keep client advances, reimbursed expenses and salary in separate records. Compare the agreed wage and workload, not the total amount passing through your hands.
