Teacher pay in Tanzania: private school minimums
Teaching offers need a school type before they need a salary comparison. A private primary school and a public secondary school do not use one interchangeable pay table.

Mainland private sector. These are statutory minimums for the listed categories, not average salaries or take-home pay. They are not a Zanzibar or public-service pay table, and a contract can pay more.
Choose the right category
The private-school schedule separates four types of institution. It does not set a teacher salary by subject, degree or years of service. A government teaching grade needs its own current public-service evidence.
Questions to settle before accepting
Ask how teaching periods, marking, boarding supervision and holiday duties fit the contract. Record housing, meals and school-fee benefits separately from the cash wage.
Make a fair comparison
Compare two secondary-school offers on the same monthly basis, then list the number of teaching periods and additional duties beside each. A larger headline amount may come with a substantially different workload.
