Driver pay in Tanzania: transport wages and trip terms
Driving is a task; the transport undertaking and employment arrangement determine which evidence belongs in the comparison.

Mainland private sector. These are statutory minimums for the listed categories, not average salaries or take-home pay. They are not a Zanzibar or public-service pay table, and a contract can pay more.
Choose the right category
The inland-transport row is not automatically the minimum for every person who drives. A household driver, a factory employee and a transport-company driver can have different applicable classifications. Confirm the employer category.
Questions to settle before accepting
The Order separately addresses truck-driver allowances for mileage, longer stays away and loading or unloading, with terms negotiated with the employer. Ask for the trip policy and reimbursement process in writing.
Make a fair comparison
Compare a fixed monthly wage with another fixed monthly wage. Keep fuel advances and money given for a delivery separate: cash entrusted for company expenses is not automatically personal earnings.
