Chiller Operator

Job Description

• Operate and monitor all kinds of chillers per standard operating procedures

• Monitor operating parameters (pressure, temperature, oil level, dew point, water quality)

• Ensure continuous chilled water supply to production areas

• Perform routine start-up and shutdown of chiller systems

Preventive Maintenance

• Carry out preventive maintenance per manufacturer's schedule

• Inspect chiller, cooling tower systems, and pumps

• Replace filters, lubricants, separators, and consumable parts

• Maintain compressor efficiency through housekeeping and inspections

Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Diagnose equipment faults using operating data/inspection findings

• Perform mechanical and basic electrical repairs on chillers and auxiliary equipment

• Rectify breakdowns with minimum downtime, maintaining safety standards

• Coordinate with maintenance teams for major overhauls/shutdowns

Documentation

• Record operating parameters, maintenance activities, breakdown reports, repairs

• Maintain equipment history and preventive maintenance records

• Report abnormalities/performance issues to Utility Supervisor

Safety & Compliance

• Follow HSE policies; use PPE at all times

• Keep work areas clean, organized, hazard-free

• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, emergency response

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in technical training programs

• Recommend improvements for reliability/energy efficiency

• Support continuous improvement initiatives within Utilities

Skills Required

• Spreadsheets (e.g. Excel, Google Sheets, etc)

• Word Processing and Desktop Publishing Tools (MS Office, Google Docs, etc)
