Forty-one posts were at the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and closed on 27 September 2026; the two engineering posts close on 16 October 2026. Codes are copied as printed.

What the codes show

The code changes with the cadre, not only with the grade. Daraja la III teachers appear under ZPSG-08, ZPSG-06, ZPSE-08 and ZPSD-02, and ZPSE-08 covers Daraja la III mathematics and chemistry teachers and a driver as well as Daraja la II ICT and procurement officers. So read the code printed next to the post, not the grade name alone. The adverts give no amounts.

Zanzibar’s own minimum

On 1 May 2026 Zanzibar President Hussein Mwinyi announced that the minimum salary for public servants would rise from TZS 300,000 to TZS 500,000 a month. The Citizen reported that the new rate takes effect from January 2027. The Mainland public-service minimum of TZS 500,000, announced for July 2025, is a separate decision, and the Mainland private-sector wage table on Work.tz does not apply in Zanzibar.

Who can apply

Every one of these adverts asked for Zanzibari applicants, and the education ministry posts set an age limit of 46. Applications go only through the ZanAjira portal, and the ministry notice warns that a progressive report or statement of results alone will not be considered. See open jobs in Zanzibar.

Before you accept

Ask the ministry for the basic salary that matches your code and step, the allowances and the start date, and keep the advert with the appointment letter. For living and commuting costs on the islands, read working in Zanzibar.
